Job summary

Cox Fleet in Jackson, TN is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections and preventive maintenance on a range of trucks and trailers in a mobile/field setting.

Responsibilities include diagnosing electrical and mechanical systems, road testing vehicles, and ensuring compliance with DOT and safety policies. Candidates should have a HS diploma/GED, tool set, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months, with a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years’ related field experience (or 5 years of related field experience).
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical as required by FMCSA.
• DOT medical card valid; if less than 4 months remaining, a DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems on trucks and trailers.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment using diagnostic tools and test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work on RO via TRAIT app.
