Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-medium repairs for mobile fleets. The role requires a high school diploma or GED and ASE T8 certification within 18 months, with compliance to FMCSA regulations.

The technician will work a day shift, with remote work options where allowed, and must maintain a company vehicle and tools while ensuring safety, accuracy, and timely documentation of all service

Qualifications

High School Diploma/GED (or equivalent) and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
DOT regulations and FMCSA compliance awareness.

Responsibilities

Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, transmissions, and related systems.
Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using handheld tools and diagnostic devices.
Document work performed and parts used via company-issued device and TRAIT app.
Maintain safety, conduct pre-/post-trip inspections, and manage parts inventory on the service truck.
