Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to service our on-site mobile fleet across Tennessee. You will perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile environment, with opportunities to advance under supervision.

Responsibilities include diagnostics of electrical, cooling, and engine systems, driving for road tests, and documenting work in the TRAIT system. A valid DOT card and ASE certs are preferred, with strong safety adherence.

Qualifications

• PM inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems
• Follow DOT/FMCSA and safety requirements and complete required forms

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on vehicles in mobile/field setting
• Carry out minor and some advanced repairs and diagnostics under supervision
• Document work and parts on Repair Orders using iOS device/TRAIT app
• Inspect, test, and diagnose defects using tools and gauges
• Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance
• Maintain service vehicle and manage parts inventory
• Communicate with management for approvals and RO notes
• Ensure compliance with safety, health, and environmental policies
