Job summary

Cox Fleet in Nashville, TN is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems on various trucks and trailers, while maintaining the service truck and documenting work in the TRAIT app.

A successful candidate will have a HS diploma or GED with related experience, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• DOT/Federal requirements including background screen and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card acceptable if valid beyond 4 months remaining.
• Must be at least 21 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and drivetrain systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and operate the company service truck.
• Document findings and RO details using TRAIT app and iOS device.
• Adhere to safety policies, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
