Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive is seeking a field technician to perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections on a range of trucks and trailers. You will diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems in a mobile setting, drive to sites, and document work with company tools.

You’ll need a HS diploma or GED, 3 years in a related field (or 5 years alternative), and DOT/ASE readiness. ASE T8 PMI certification within 18 months is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have HS diploma or GED; 3 years related field experience or 5 years experience option.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 PMI certification or ability to obtain within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening and DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair truck equipment including electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems.
• Inspect, test and road-test vehicles to ensure proper operation.
• Accurately complete DOT forms and document findings on RO using mobile devices.
