Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-medium repairs for fleets in a dynamic mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, engine and hydraulic systems while adhering to safety and process standards.

You will manage parts on the service truck, document findings with photos in the TRAIT app, and coordinate with management to approve repairs and purchase orders.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related field experience, or 5 years relevant experience.
• Own and maintain a set of hand tools necessary for duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Must pass DOT/FMCSA pre-employment screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card acceptable if valid with >4 months remaining; else DOT physical required.
• Must be 21+ and hold a valid state driver license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Carry out repairs and diagnostics on electrical, braking, cooling, engine and hydraulic systems.
• Document work and upload RO photos via iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Obtain parts from approved vendors and coordinate with management for approvals on estimates.
• Maintain company service truck and perform pre/post-trip inspections.
