Job summary

Cox Fleet by Cox Automotive in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs, and light to medium repairs in a field/mobile environment.

The role requires 3 years of related experience or a HS diploma with training; ASE T8 certification within 18 months; and a valid driver's license. You’ll manage a service truck, order parts, document work, and ensure safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as any level degree/certification beyond a HS diploma/GED in a related discipline; or 5 years’ experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• Must pass a DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical before employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections and follow up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical/braking/cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and related components.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
• Document work and upload RO photos via company TRAIT app; complete DOT forms timely.
