Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II (DOT) to perform licensed DOT inspections, PMs and light to intermediate repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair vehicle systems, manage parts, and document findings via mobile tools.

The role requires a DOT-compliant background, HS diploma or higher, and ASE T8 certification within 18 months. Strong safety and customer-service orientation is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or higher with related field experience (3+ years) or 5+ years in related field.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification to be obtained within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical may be required before employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT Inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose defects using handheld instruments and diagnostic tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and document work on RO using TRAIT app.
