Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs in a mobile environment. You will diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, and ensure compliance with DOT and safety policies.

The role requires HS diploma or equivalent plus ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid CDL/driver’s license. Training and career progression are provided, with a focus on safety and quality service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3 years related field experience or 5 years in related field.
• Own set of hand tools.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• DOT medical card valid with >4 months remaining acceptable.
• 21+ years old due to interstate regulations.
• Valid state driver's license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and other truck systems.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and document work orders via TRAIT app on iOS.
• Complete DOT forms promptly and maintain safety compliance.
