Job summary

Cox Fleet By Cox Automotive, headquartered near Indianapolis, is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform PMs, DOT inspections, and repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will work with light to heavy-duty trucks, manage parts, and document RO details using a company iOS app.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED with 3+ years in related fields (or 5 years), ASE T8 within 18 months, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus 3 years in a related field (or 5 years' related experience).
• Must supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA pre-employment background check and DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and drivetrain systems.
• Inspect, test, and road-test vehicles; document findings and parts used.
• Manage parts inventory and company vehicle maintenance.
• Follow safety policies and DOT/EPA regulations; communicate with supervision and customers.
