Job summary

Cox Fleet in the United States is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs in a mobile/field setting. Under supervision, you will diagnose, repair, and test diesel systems while maintaining safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3+ years in related field or equivalent combination of degree/certification and experience.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.
• Hold a valid Class C driver's license and be able to obtain and maintain a Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on various vehicle classes in mobile/field settings.
• Make minor repairs and adjustments on electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems; diagnose with handheld tools and gauges.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions; road test to verify proper operation.
• Identify problems and evaluate alternatives with sound judgment; manage parts inventory and supplies.
• Maintain and operate service vehicle, conduct pre-/post-trip inspections, and document findings with photos.
• Communicate with clients and management for estimates, orders, and repair notes.
