Job summary

CoxFleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-mid repairs on a fleet of trucks in a mobile/field environment. The role involves diagnosing electrical and diesel systems, performing road tests, and maintaining service truck inventory.

Requirements include a HS diploma or GED and ASE T8 certification within 18 months, with DOT background screening and a valid DOT medical card.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory pre-employment screening and DOT physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Carry out minor and some mid‑level repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, air conditioning, and diesel systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Maintain inventory on company service truck and document RO using TRAIT app.
