Job summary

Cox Automotive Fleet Services in the United States seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to heavy-duty repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose and repair diesel systems, manage parts on the service truck, and document findings on RO forms using company devices.

ASE T8 certification is required within 18 months; DOT compliance and strong safety practices are essential.

Qualifications

• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems.
• Inspect, test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments.
• Road-test vehicles to confirm repairs and proper operation.
• Maintain and operate company-issued service truck and safety checks.
