Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to mid-range repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role requires compliance with DOT/FMCSA rules and the ability to work independently with a company service truck.

The technician will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and transmission systems, while maintaining tools and completing documentation on an iOS TRAIT app.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Possess ASE T8 (PMI) and other ASE certifications within 18 months.
• DOT-regulated background screening and DOT medical card requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work via RO in TRAIT on iOS devices.
• Complete DOT forms and related documentation promptly.
