Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II (DOT) to perform DOT inspections, Preventive Maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting across the United States.

You will diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, manage parts on the service truck, and document findings with our TRAIT app while upholding safety and DOT regulations. A HS diploma or GED and ASE T8 certification timeline apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years in related field.
• Possess hand tools to perform duties.
• DOT background check and DOT medical card compliance.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• Must be 21+ and have a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/braking/cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and other truck equipment.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper function.
• Manage parts inventory on company service truck and document RO in TRAIT app.
• Communicate with management for approvals on repair estimates and PO numbers.
