Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level I to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and light-to-medium repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role requires working Tuesday through Saturday, with the ability to operate a company service truck and use TRAIT on an iOS device to document work performed.

The ideal candidate has a HS diploma or GED and 3–5 years of related field experience, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and the ability to pass a DOT

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience (or 5 years’ related field experience).
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months and pass DOT pre-employment screening per FMCSA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems using diagnostic tools.
• Test and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions with test instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation after repairs.
• Manage parts inventory on company service truck and document findings in the TRAIT app.
