Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. This role requires diagnosing complex vehicle systems and working directly with customers to meet service needs.

The position emphasizes independent day-to-day scheduling, safe operation of a company vehicle, and accurate documentation via an iOS device using our TRAIT application.

Qualifications

• Licensed DOT inspections and Preventive Maintenance inspections.
• Ability to perform light and follow-up repairs.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems in a mobile/field setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light to heavy vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine and transmission systems.
• Inspect and test equipment using handheld testers and pressure gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain the service truck and tools.
• Document work in the TRAIT app with RO notes and photos.
