Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, light repairs, and diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. The role requires strong mechanical skills, safety compliance, and the ability to work independently under supervision of senior technicians.

Applicants should have a HS diploma or GED, ASE T8 certification, and the capacity to operate company tools, TRAIT app, and iOS devices for documentation and communications.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience; or 5 years’ related field experience.
• ASE T8 certification required; other ASE certifications preferred.
• Willingness to learn advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on mobile/field vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Document repairs and parts used in Repair Orders via TRAIT app on iOS.
• Manage parts inventory and daily scheduling with independence.
• Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety regulations.
