Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and diagnostic work on various vehicle classes in a field/mobile setting.

Responsibilities include vehicle testing, documentation via TRAIT app, parts management, and ensuring compliance with safety and DOT regulations. Preference given to ASE certifications and hands-on diesel experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3 years’ related field experience or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months; DOT/FMCSA regulations compliance; DOT medical card or pending; 21+ years old; valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PMs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Operate hand and Diesel tools; conduct safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Document repairs and parts via iOS TRAIT app and RO forms.
• Communicate with management for estimates and approvals; maintain parts inventory.
