Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II (DOT). This on-site/mobile role conducts DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs for light to heavy-duty vehicles across a national footprint.

The role requires adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations and a valid DOT card; candidates must maintain safety and service standards. Work days are Monday through Friday with variable hours; the position offers weekly pay and potential incentive programs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required with related field experience.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months or equivalent.
• DOT-regulated background screening and valid DOT medical card when applicable.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, and transmission systems.
• Road test vehicles and document findings; manage parts inventory and vehicle safety checks.
• Communicate with customers to assess needs and obtain approvals for repairs.
