Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II- DOT to perform on-site maintenance and DOT inspections for light to heavy-duty vehicles. You will diagnose, repair, and service fleet equipment at customer sites, using handheld devices to document work and manage parts.

This role offers roaming assignments with a company-provided service vehicle and remote work flexibility within specified regions. You will work independently in the field, following safety policies and DOT regulations.

Qualifications

• Minimum: high school diploma/GED with 3+ years related field experience, or 5 years without a degree.
• Ability to obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulatory pre-employment screening and DOT medical card requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled maintenance and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty trucks.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Operate and maintain a company service truck and telematics unit.
• Document work and obtain approvals for repairs and parts.
• Maintain safety, OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance.
