Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, PMs, and light to medium repairs in a mobile/field environment. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems, using specialized tools and diagnostic devices.

The role requires ASE T8 certification within 18 months, a valid DOT medical card if applicable, and the ability to work a schedule that may include night or weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with 3 years related field experience (or 5 years related field experience).
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical required.
• Valid DOT medical card with >4 months remaining preferred or DOT physical soon after hire.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems; diagnose and repair as needed.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using test instruments and handheld devices to diagnose malfunctions.
