Job summary

Cox Automotive in Charlotte, NC is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light-to-heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, braking, cooling, engines and transmissions, while maintaining equipment and documenting work in TRAIT on an iOS device.

The role requires a HS diploma or GED, 3+ years in a related field (or 5+ years experience), and ASE T8 certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED required; 3+ years in a related field or 5+ years experience may substitute.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months of placement is preferred.
• Ability to diagnose, repair and maintain diesel trucks in the field with DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engines, transmissions and related systems.
• Maintain service truck, inventory, safety checks, and complete DOT forms promptly.
• Document work and upload RO photos using TRAIT app on iOS device.
