Job summary

Cox Automotive seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance and diagnostics in a field setting. You will work a 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, with weekends by client request, and you’ll take home the assigned service vehicle.

Responsibilities include PMs, DOT inspections, parts handling, and documenting work via the TRAIT app. A valid DOT card or ability to obtain one, plus 21+ years old, are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years' experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• DOT/FMCSA training and certifications preferred; DOT medical card or DOT physical requirements.
• Candidate must be 21+ years old with a valid driver's license and state residency.
• ASE T4 (Brakes) and T8 (PMI) preferred certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on a mobile/field fleet.
• Diagnose, repair and service light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a field environment.
• Manage parts inventory and use company service truck to complete repairs.
• Document work and upload RO details via TRAIT app on an iOS device.
• Communicate with clients to assess needs and obtain approvals for estimates.
• Maintain safety checks, pre-/post-trip inspections, and DOT compliance.
