Job summary

Fleet Services by Cox Automotive seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a range of trucks in a field setting. You will work independently, manage a service truck’s parts, and document findings via the TRAIT app.

Responsibilities include road testing, safety checks, and timely completion of DOT forms. Valid DOT card and driver’s license required; ASE T8 PMI certification is preferred and a reward-based career path is

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years in field, or 5 years with alternative credentials.
• ASE T8 PMI certification preferred within 18 months.
• DOT requirements include background check and medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to identify malfunctions using appropriate tools.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
• Manage parts inventory on company service truck and reconcile periodically.
• Maintain service vehicle and conduct safety checks; pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Document work and upload RO details via TRAIT app; complete DOT forms accurately.
• Communicate with management for approvals and PO numbers; manage multiple tasks.
