Job summary

Cox Automotive – USA is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics and repairs on light through heavy‑duty vehicles in a field/mobile setting. This role offers day shift with potential for 2nd shift, weekly pay, and a company vehicle to take home.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Own set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• Participate in and complete all-in company required training.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations; must pass DOT pre-employment screening and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Repair electrical, brake, cooling systems and engines; service transmissions and related components.
• Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on the company service truck; reconcile as needed.
• Maintain and operate the company service vehicle and perform safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with clients to assess needs, provide information, and resolve issues.
• Prioritize tasks and manage daily schedule across multiple assignments.
• Use hand tools, Diesel tools, welding equipment, lifts and jacks.
• Document work in RO via iOS TRAIT app and complete DOT forms promptly.
