Cox Automotive's Cox Fleet unit seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician I - DOT to service Class 8 trucks and trailers in the field. You will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics and repairs, using company tools and a service truck.

This role offers 2nd shift, Monday–Friday, with weekends by client request. You’ll work independently, manage parts, complete DOT forms, and support safety and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED plus up to 2 years in a related field.
• Own a set of hand tools required for daily duties.
• DOT regulations knowledge and FMCSA compliance experience preferred.
• DOT medical card requirements and pre-employment screening apply.
• ASE certifications are preferred but not required.

Responsabilités

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a field/mobile setting.
• Diagnose and repair components across electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems.
• Independently manage parts inventory and equipment on a company service truck.
• Maintain and operate the service vehicle and conduct pre-/post-trip safety checks.
• Document work and upload evidence using company devices and TRAIT app.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
