Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will work under supervision and assist senior technicians, documenting work and maintaining the service truck and inventory.

Eligible candidates should have a High School diploma, be able to pass DOT background checks, and hold a valid DOT medical card; we offer weekly pay, safety gear, and ongoing training.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• DOT-related training and FMCSA/DOT compliance knowledge preferred.
• Successful completion of a DOT pre-employment background check and DOT medical card.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on mobile units.
• Execute minor to moderate repairs and assist higher-level technicians as needed.
• Manage parts inventory and stock on the service vehicle.
• Document work with RO photos via TRAIT app and iOS device.
• Comply with safety, health and environmental policies and regulations.
• Communicate estimates and approvals with management and customers.
