Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting across our service network. The role involves documenting work, managing parts, and ensuring safety and compliance while delivering high-quality service.

You will work under supervision to build advanced mechanical skills, with training opportunities and performance metrics driving growth. A valid license and DOT-related qualifications are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years' experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge and DOT medical card requirements.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain/maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections, PMs and light repairs in mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on truck equipment and systems.
• Manage parts inventory and company-provided service truck.
• Document work on Repair Orders using iOS device and TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms accurately and in a timely fashion.
• Maintain safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and discuss RO findings.
