Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light to medium repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role involves using diesel tools, maintaining safety standards, and coordinating with management for repairs and parts

Candidates should have a High School Diploma or GED, be able to lift and perform physical work, and pass a DOT pre-employment screening. ASE certifications are preferred.

Qualifications

• DOT inspections and PMs required for field/mobile work.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations and background checks required.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification preferred; T4 (Brakes) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Handle minor electrical/engine/diesel system repairs and diagnostics under supervision.
• Manage parts inventory and document work using company TRAIT app on iOS.
• Complete DOT forms promptly and maintain safety and quality standards.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals and coordinate RO findings.
