Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will work with a trained team and utilise company tools and TRAIT app to document findings and parts used, while meeting safety and regulatory requirements.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, tool kit, and DOT/FMCSA readiness; ASE certification within 18 months is encouraged.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and up to 2 years’ experience in a related field.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• Participate in and complete all-required training.
• DOT compliance: pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• DOT medical card accepted if valid >4 months; if <=4 months, a DOT physical required.
• Candidate must be 21+ and hold a valid driver’s license with ability to obtain DQ file.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Perform minor adjustments and repairs on electrical, brake, cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and related components.
• Manage parts inventory and tool usage on company-issued service truck.
• Document work and photos on RO using TRAIT app and ensure timely DOT forms.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on repair estimates and purchase orders.
