Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs at customer sites nationwide. The role requires safe operation of a mobile service truck and accurate documentation using the TRAIT app.

The position offers a strong track for growth and compliance with DOT/FMCSA standards. Applicants must meet basic tool requirements and a clean driving record, with the potential for additional incentive programs and a $3,000 new hire bonus.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical may be required.
• ASE certifications or OEM training preferred.
• Must be able to obtain DOT medical card with schedule.
• Valid driver’s license and state residency requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and scheduled PM on light, medium, and heavy vehicles in mobile/field settings.
• Carry out minor repairs and assist higher‑level technicians.
• Manage parts inventory and use company-issued tools and equipment.
• Document work in the TRAIT system and accuracy of Repair Orders.
