Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician I to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will work under supervision on advanced tasks and learn from senior techs while maintaining a high standard of safety and quality.

Responsibilities include documenting work via TRAIT on an iOS device, managing parts, and coordinating with clients to ensure timely completion. Valid DOT card and clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED completed.
• DOT-regulated pre-employment background screen and DOT physical.
• Candidate must be able to pass DOT medical card requirements or provide valid card.
• Driver's license and valid state residency required.
• Auto/truck tool set provided and must be maintained.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification preferred within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and Preventive Maintenance on mobile/field vehicles.
• Execute light to medium repairs and diagnose mechanical issues.
• Manage parts inventory and housekeeping on service van.
• Document work in RO via TRAIT app and upload photos.
• Communicate with client and supervisor to approve repairs.
• Operate and maintain company service vehicle and perform safety checks.
• Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and DOT safety policies.
