Job summary

Cox Fleet, headquartered in Indianapolis and a leader in on-site mobile maintenance, seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to service fleets nationwide. You will perform DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field setting, using company tools and TRAIT app for documentation.

You will work independently with strong time-management skills, ensuring safety compliance and high productivity.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; 3 years in related field or 5 years in related field acceptable.
• Must supply a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification to be obtained within 18 months.
• DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical required before employment.
• DOT medical card acceptable if within 4 months of expiration; otherwise DOT physical required.
• Must be at least 21 years old; valid state driver’s license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brakes, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose to identify malfunctions with appropriate instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and functioning.
• Maintain and manage company service truck and inventory; document RO in TRAIT app.
