Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks in a mobile field setting.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, on-site triage, and coordination with customers while maintaining the service truck and completing RO documentation via the TRAIT application. Requires DOT eligibility and a valid CDL-like credential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent; 3 years related field experience or 5 years related field experience.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical are required.
• DOT medical card with >4 months remaining may be submitted in lieu of a DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old; valid state driver’s license and DQF.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine, and hydraulic systems.
• Inspect, test, and road test vehicles to diagnose malfunctions and ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document findings on Repair Orders using TRAIT app.
• Complete DOT forms accurately and communicate with management for approvals.
