Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced repairs in a mobile/field setting. The role leads on-site triage and acts as a consultant for customers, with a focus on safety, efficiency, and quality repairs.

Responsibilities include diagnosing complex mechanical/electrical issues, maintaining the service truck, and ensuring documentation and compliance with DOT, OSHA, and EPA standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; 3+ years in related field, or 5 years experience.
• 3+ years experience with refrigerated equipment.
• DOT pre-employment background check and DOT physical required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems.
• Inspect, test, and listen to equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Maintain company-issued service truck and conduct safety checks.
• Document repairs and RO in TRAIT app via iOS device.
• Obtain parts from vendors as needed.
• Adhere to safety, OSHA, EPA, and DOT regulations.
