Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field setting. You will work independently, manage your schedule, and may take home the assigned service vehicle.

The role requires DOT regulatory compliance, ASE certifications within 18 months, and valid driver’s license. Flexible remote work option is available within the specified region.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related field experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, engine electronics, transmissions and other truck components.
• Test and inspect equipment using handheld devices and gauges; conduct road tests to verify repairs.
• Document work on Repair Orders with photos using TRAIT app and upload RO findings.
• Coordinate approvals on repair estimates and purchase orders with management.
