Job summary

Cox Automotive in the United States is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex on-site repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems on various trucks and manage inventory on the service truck.

The role requires DOT compliance, ASE certifications (within 18 months preferred), and a strong emphasis on safety, productivity, and customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED required or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of related field experience or alternative combinations with higher education.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance (PM) and inspections in mobile/field environments.
• Conduct minor and some advanced mechanical repairs on light to heavy-duty trucks.
• Diagnose, test, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and electronic systems.
• Maintain DOT compliance documentation and complete RO entries using company-issued devices.
• Coordinate with customers and manage parts on a service truck.
• Adhere to safety policies and DOT/FMCSA regulations.
