Job summary

Cox Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform PMs, inspections, and repairs on light to heavy‑duty trucks in a mobile environment. You will diagnose, adjust, and repair systems, road test vehicles, and manage parts inventory with company tools and TRAIT app, while ensuring DOT compliance and safety standards.

The role requires handling hand tools and diesel equipment, lifting abilities, and independent scheduling.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience with refrigerated equipment.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• OEM training and certifications are preferred.
• This position follows DOT/FMCSA regulations; DOT pre‑employment screening and DOT physical may be required.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections and follow‑up repairs on trucks in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and engine systems on light to heavy‑duty vehicles.
• Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment using instrumentation and tools.
• Road test vehicles to confirm repairs and proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and document work using company TRAIT app on iOS devices.
• Complete DOT forms and other documentation in a timely fashion.
