Job summary

Cox Fleet seeks a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs for a mobile fleet. This role emphasizes diagnosing electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems in a field setting.

The technician will manage parts, document findings via iOS tools, and maintain safe, efficient service calls, with emphasis on independent scheduling and customer communication.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 3 years’ related experience, or 5 years’ related field experience.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools to perform duties.
• ASE T8 certification within 18 months, per DOT/FMSCA requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine and hydraulic systems as required.
• Inspect, test and document vehicle findings; road-test to ensure proper operation.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain company service vehicles; pre/post-trip inspections.
