Job summary

Cox Automotive Fleet is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs for our mobile fleet fleet nationwide. The role requires working in a field/mobile environment with daily travel and structured safety protocols.

You will diagnose electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems, document work details via TRAIT on an iOS device, and maintain a high level of customer service while meeting productivity targets and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent with 3 years of related experience (or 5 years in related field).
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification within eighteen (18) months.
• This position follows regulations issued by the Department of Transportation’s (DOT) FMCSA. DOT background screening and physical required.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain DOT-required files.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and PM on light, medium and heavy‑duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems.
• Document work orders and parts using TRAIT app and an iOS device.
• Maintain safety and comply with DOT/OSHA requirements.
