Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, light repairs, and diagnostics in a mobile/field setting. You will diagnose, test, and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems while maintaining parts inventory and using a company iOS/TRAIT workflow.

The role emphasizes safe, efficient work practices, adherence to DOT/OSHA/EPA regulations, and clear communication with customers and management.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years of related field experience, or 5 years in related field.
• Owns a set of hand tools necessary to perform duties.
• Must obtain ASE T8 (PMI) within 18 months.
• DOT background check and DOT physical prior to employment.
• 21+ years old with valid state driver’s license.

Responsabilités

• Perform PM, DOT Inspections and repairs on light/medium/heavy vehicles in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical/braking/cooling systems, engines, transmissions, and other truck equipment.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose using handheld devices, sensors, and gauges.
• Road test vehicles to verify proper operation after service.
• Manage parts inventory and company-issued service truck assets.
• Document RO findings and parts used via TRAIT/iOS,
• Perform safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections; adhere to DOT/OSHA/EPA rules.
• Coordinate with management for repair estimates and approvals.
