Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II for DOT inspections, PMs, and light-to-medium repairs in a mobile/field setting. This role supports 100% travel and may involve remote work with residency in the specified city/region.

You will perform a range of diagnostics, maintain the service truck, and document findings via the TRAIT app. DOT/FMCSA compliance and ASE T8 certification within 18 months are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ related experience.
• Possess ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT regulations knowledge and ability to pass DOT screening and DOT physical.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventive maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems; perform tests with handheld instruments.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and diagnose malfunctions.
• Manage parts inventory and vehicle service truck supplies; complete DOT forms and RO documentation using iOS device.
