Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on a range of vehicles in a mobile/field setting. The role emphasizes diagnostics, advanced mechanical work, and customer communication.

A strong toolset and safety compliance are required. Location flexibility is noted with remote work options for candidates residing in the specified city/region.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Or 5 years’ related field experience.
• ASE certifications or OEM training are preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform DOT inspections and preventative maintenance on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Utilize handheld devices to record RO data and parts used.
• Obtain and manage parts from local/national vendors for repairs.
• Maintain and operate the company service truck and perform pre-/post-trip checks.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and RO findings.
