Job summary

Cox Automotive - USA is seeking a Mobile Diesel Tech II - DOT to perform licensed DOT inspections and mobile maintenance across light to heavy-duty trucks. You’ll diagnose, repair, and service vehicles in the field, using diagnostic tools and keeping customers informed with updates.

You’ll also take home the assigned service vehicle and work a Monday–Friday schedule. The role requires DOT compliance experience, ASE certification eligibility, and a strong commitment to safety and quality

Qualifications

• High school diploma/GED with 3 years related experience, or 1 year with degree, or 5 years without degree.
• Personal set of hand tools required.
• Ability to obtain ASE certification T8 (PMI) within 18 months of employment.
• Must pass DOT pre-employment background screening and DOT physical.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Valid driver's license and ability to obtain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling, and engine systems in trucks.
• Use diagnostic tools and handheld devices to test and document work.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and safety.
• Manage a company-issued service truck and inventory.
