Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and advanced mechanical work in a field/mobile setting. You will diagnose, repair, and test heavy/light-duty trucks while ensuring safety and regulatory compliance, often traveling to client sites.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, tool proficiency, and the ability to manage parts, paperwork, and schedules with limited supervision.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3+ years in related field or 5 years experience.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations knowledge helpful.
• ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on trucks in mobile/field environments.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brakes, cooling, engines, transmissions, and related systems.
• Road test vehicles to verify repairs and ensure proper operation.
• Document work using RO in TRAIT and upload photos.
• Obtain parts from vendors and manage inventory on service truck.
• Complete DOT forms accurately and timely.
• Work with clients to assess needs and provide solutions.
