Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II to inspect and repair light to heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment. You will perform DOT inspections, PMs, electrical and mechanical repairs, and diagnostic work, with independence and safety compliance.

The role emphasizes advanced diagnostics, scheduling, and accurate documentation using company tools; ASE T8 within 18 months is required, with DOT medical clearance as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required duties.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PM, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine and related systems.
• Inspect, test, and document findings; road test vehicles to verify repairs.
• Manage parts inventory and use company-issued devices to document work.
• Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA and company safety policies.
