Job summary

Cox Automotive is seeking a Mobile Diesel Technician Level II in the United States. You will perform licensed DOT inspections, preventive maintenance, and light to heavy repairs in a mobile/field role. The position offers a $2,500 new hire bonus and opportunities for additional compensation based on location and performance.

The role requires DOT regulatory compliance, ASE T8 certification within 18 months, and a valid driver's license. Strong diagnostic and customer service skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED with 3 years related field experience or 5 years related field experience.
• Must possess and supply a set of hand tools.
• Obtain ASE T8 (PMI) certification within 18 months.
• DOT/FMCSA regulations require pre-employment background screening and a medical card.
• Must be at least 21 years old due to interstate commerce.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to maintain Driver Qualification File.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled Preventative Maintenance, DOT inspections, and repairs on light to heavy-duty vehicles in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, engine, and transmission systems.
• Inspect, test, and diagnose equipment using hand tools and diagnostic devices; road test vehicles as needed.
• Manage parts inventory and maintain company service truck and RO documentation.
• Communicate with management to obtain approvals on estimates and PO numbers; follow safety policies.
