Job summary

Cox Automotive is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician II to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and advanced diagnostics in a mobile/field environment. You will lead on-site repairs, manage parts and tools, and document outcomes using TRAIT on an iOS device.

The role involves working with heavy-duty equipment, adherence to DOT regulations, and a flexible schedule with remote work options while residing in the designated city/region. Benefits are offered starting on DAY ONE.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required, and 3 years’ related field experience; or 5 years in related field.
• At least 3 years with refrigerated equipment.
• Possess and supply a set of hand tools required to perform duties.
• DOT/FMCSA compliance training and DOT physical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Perform PM, DOT inspections and follow up repairs on light to heavy trucks in mobile/field setting.
• Diagnose and repair electrical, braking, cooling and engine systems on trucks and trailers.
• Document work using iOS TRAIT app and upload RO photos and findings.
• Maintain safety checks, pre/post-trip inspections, and organize parts and tools on the service truck.
