Job summary

Cox Fleet is hiring a Mobile Diesel Technician Level I to perform DOT inspections, preventative maintenance, and light repairs in a mobile/field setting. You will work with a team of technicians, manage parts on the service truck, and maintain documentation using TRAIT and iOS devices.

OSHA/EPA/DOT compliance and safety are essential. Requirements include a high school diploma, ability to lift heavy objects, and a valid driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and related field experience preferred.
• DOT regulations familiarity and ability to complete DOT forms.
• Must possess basic hand tools for field service work.
• ASE T8 (PMI) certification required within 18 months; T4 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scheduled PMs and DOT inspections on mobile fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose minor issues and perform light repairs under supervision.
• Manage parts inventory and document repairs using TRAIT/RO systems.
• Conduct safety checks and pre/post-trip inspections on service trucks.
• Communicate with customers to assess needs and obtain approvals.
• Adhere to OSHA, EPA, and DOT policies and safety procedures.
